Since The Second-hand Book-stall was begun utilizing a made-up as I go blog-style format, I decided that it would be better served in a blog. Thanks go out to Dr. Grey for the design and production... Thanks go out to WordPress as well, for greating a better blog app...

For the Version 6 Second-hand Book-stall, we are concentrating on themes. Much like the last release at the end of Version 5 had an Antinomian theme. Beginning with the present release, we are focussing on certain ideas regarding Change and the Future. The persons we chose were at the Planning level of society or had access to it. The world that we see today is the world these authors were warning everybody against, for decades. This really is the New Aeon. Interwoven with this are a few techniques that are useful survival tools, as well as some of the methods employed Reality Engineers, the Adepti of the present... We call this "Surfing the Aeon". "Surf's up!"

This is an e-book we have been in the process of creating for a number of years.

It is a collection of texts pertaining to a controversy over the Royal Arch Word among a couple of opposing factions in the American Rite. On the one hand was Albert Pike, and on the other were lesser known personalities in New England. This provides the purchaser with hitherto unavailable texts by Albert Pike, Albert Mackey, Companion John Bland, etc. Definitely worth the cost ($23.00 US$)

This is the graphic from the Index Page to the first Version released on 22 December 1999 c.e. It was a fairly crude affair, as you can see, executed using Corel Presentations. A couple of years later, we obtained a scanner, and scanned the original it was based upon.

This has worked as a "cover" design, as a gateway to a temple, as a tracing board... Originally, we conceived our site to be an online Temple, where people can enter via the "gateway". In the interest of crass materialism, we have been forced to jettison this approach and put cover, welcome, and what's new pages together on one page. It used to be about three pages. (Index, Welcome, New, plus General Editorial -- this page.)

Once upon a time, this page (General Editorial) included what became the "Second-hand Book-stall". Now the 2 BS is going to be reformatted and offered as a blog, with content added more or less regularly.

As you can see, from the archive we have put up, AI Volume 1 Number 1 is a very crude package. But the essence still remains, even if things have improved vastly. GET THAT ARCHIVE HERE!

So, then..... what's the story? Where do we begin? What do we reminisce about?

As an online project, this work came together immediately, when we first got our dial-up in December of 1999 c.e. We were surfing the net, when we came upon the old Yohonza! site on XOOM, with all that nice Crowley contraband. After downloading it all, we clicked on the Xoom bar, and... signed up for our own account.

Next: what to do? We started compiling a small website. Back then, we had no idea that it would become as huge an undertaking as it has. We wanted to have a unique site, complete with links to other unique sites, and perhaps a store featuring unique items. Well we have just begun to create a store. We put up a small number of articles, most of which are no longer online.

These included the Albert Pike article, the Nietzsche article, Is THIS The Holy Mountain? a short excerpt from the TimeLine. Etc. Traffic wasn't all that high in those early days. We started doing search engine submission (in those days it was more necessary than it is today, with Google's methods replacing the search engine submission method).....

On 17 January 2000, we started publishing Qadosh: the Johannite Tradition. By the end of Volume I (read: Version 1) -- we had the first section of Qadosh online. By the time we got Qadosh section I up, it became clear that the remainder of the work was due to go online.

Also during the first season, we started offering TimeLine of the Authentic Tradition. During the first two Seasons of AI, we put up the first half of TimeLine Six (which covers the years 1700-1947). Years 1700-1875 are online, though by now they really need to be updated.

In March of 2000 we joined the late Thelema list. We made some contacts, most of which did not last. In other cases, long-term contacts, like Alamantra, were first made on that list. At the same time we made our first contact with Pee Jay Rovelli and immediately recognized him to be the fraud that he is. A couple years later he would get what he really wanted out of life: recognition.

During the first season we met up with a few like-minded individuals, and in at least one instance, we are still in touch periodically. It wouldn't be until the next couple of seasons that we started getting the networking going, that our slogan, "Networking the HIGHER Learning" refers to.

Meeting up with Allen Greenfield in early 2000 c.e. gave me the inspiration to continue digging for the clues along the lines of the Frankist / Sabbatian influences upon Western Esotericism (and Western History, too). I had recently, in 1999, found these connections while reading Scholem, but I had not yet found Gallica! Now I have! I thank you, Allen, for being your individual self.

At the time of the inauguration of the second season, Version Two, in September of 2000, I made the online acquaintance of Edda Livingston. Edda, if you're still viewing these pages, please do drop me a line. I really enjoyed those conversations about the silliness and pretensiousness of most occultists... and the speculations about those Illuminati ocean liners...... not an impossibility, y'kno! Version Two brought us a Links Section, and perhaps one of the most popular sections of the site: The Second-hand Book-stall. It was at first a way of showcasing links to interesting articles and books we'd found on the internet, or purchased in hard copy.

Version Two saw the publication of The Legacy of the GIFT (Book One of The Brethren of the GIFT).

Sometime in January of 2001 we were introduced to the Incunabula website. The Incunabula Catalog is quite an interesting way of telling a story, under the guise of a book catalog. It influenced us in the way we started to produce the Second-hand Book-stall. Tell a story, spinning the web of connections, directing the spin according to the books and articles referred to. The Version Five 2 BS pages are masterpieces. In the Incunabula and Ong's Hat materials, we found a story that seemed familiar to us, in the sense of having lived some of it ourselves. Indeed we might not have had the egg shaped devices, but we did have ACME Studios in Brea for a short period of time in the late 80s. Little did we know then that we would end up meeting up with some of the people involved in this meme.

Also, in January of 2001, we met up with one of our most devoted associates, WatcherAshera777, who continues to provide research and assistance time permitting. We are most grateful for the help, research, confirmation of hunches, excellent conversations, and everything else. Yer one - a the good ones, mon!

When we were planning Version Three (2001-2002), we had no idea that the events of September 2001 were going to take place. We had already planned to produce Section Two of Qadosh that Year (The Sabians of the House of Wisdom). This is a survey of the Ebionite / Elkesaite / Mandaean / Isma'ili / Yezidi / Sufi / Brethren of Purity / Wise Men of Damcar currents. Some of these pages ended up mirrored on Isma'ili.net, by the way. Not many other "Thelemites" mirrored on that site, I tell you. Nor does Vincent Bridges have any real estate there, either... Or that other bloke with the Arizona Templars....

In a sense the atmosphere created by the 9-11 tragedy and subsequent activities, gave our work the quality of background reading on the factors that have created the big mess in the first place, all those centuries ago... when the Orthodox Parties won out and repressed everybody else. That's what Orthodoxy does. Now let's get the Orkin man and give them some Ortho that works!

2002 saw new collaborators coming aboard, including Alamantra, Krisatora aka AntiqIllum Links Manager, and others. This was the year of the Rovelli Campaign, and the foundation of Greater Thelema. Recent differences aside, we are still networking. (and nut-working, too!) The Links Manager went on in Season Four to create what has become the most popular mainstay of Antiquities of the Illuminati: The Grey Lodge Occult Review. We thank you for sticking it out, thick and thin, with our grief manifestation, and amidst your own personal situation. You're a champ!

2002 also got us connected to the Stare network, and 2003 saw us networking with New Falcon Publications. Now it's all Digital Falcon! Networking the HIGHER Learning..........

Although 2003 was the year our finances went south, and haven't returned! It did see us improving the site little bit by little bit. 2004 (Version Five) has been a far better site to date than all that came before it, and when we finally get Version Six rolling, (it's been very slow this year) -- It will become the navigation friendly site that some have wanted us to make. We just want to do it Our Way, in Our Style, and none of that Jakob Nielsen ugly website junk. There used to be a saying in the printing industry: Helvetica is boring. Well, so is Arial, Times, Courier.

While we might have included links to all these, we just wanted to present a gallery of thumbnails, to span the period we've been doing these online. They have evolved nicely, from 2002 to the present. The first, Madame Blavatsky was originally offered with the 11 March 2002 c.e. update. The latest, Adam Weishaupt was recently completed, early December 2004 c.e. We hope you've enjoyed these. They might end up in the "Girls of the Illuminati" calendar yet!

We need to keep this reminiscence short. In short, then, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has inspired us, everyone who has assisted us, everyone who has appreciated this work so far. Including those who think I'm crazy, or as emotionally attached to this work as Kolchak the Night Stalker! Those of you have contributed funds, research materials, actual technical assistance, hosting, and so forth rank among the Illuminati at AI.
