HISTORY, we are assured, is written by the victors. When Rome became an Empire, it needed propagandists to massage the minds of the slaves and citizens alike. So, the classical historians, like Tacitus, Pliny and Livy were assured a lifetime of endorsement. History proved that the Romans were the legitimate owners of Mother Earth.
This approach has never ceased to be employed by propagandists. We are not going to analyze Roman history and the propaganda process. We simply point to it as an early example of what Noam Chomsky terms the "Manufacturing of Consent".
The most classic example of the Manufacturing of Consent did not originate with Rome. True, it was employed by Rome at a time when the Empire was threatened with collapse and ruin. Well, the Empire collapsed and WAS ruined, but it became a new Empire, with the assistance of this insidious manufacturing of consent, not to mention military force employed in the name of the "Prince of Peace".
This particular example, as you have guessed, is Christianity. Not, as we shall demonstrate throughout this Work, the Genuine or Primitive Christianity, which is known to posterity as Gnostic or Johannite Christianity, but the contrived Christianity of the New Testament, of Peter and of Paul, of the early Orthodox Church and the Fathers who waged a ceaseless war of propaganda against the Gnostics and other Heretics and Pagans.
What we are presenting could rightly be termed History as told by the Vanquished. Yet most of the source material derives from the Victors' camp.
We must begin our survey of the Antiquities of the Illuminati with a discourse upon the Reversal of Values which occurred during the first three centuries of the Common Era. This is perhaps the most important section of the Work, since everything which follows depends upon the unmasking of the Lie, which the propagandists of the Christian Church and their cousins in the New Age Movement, Establishment in general, and other areas have employed for so long.
Christians call us all blasphemers, Satanists, heathens, evil, seducers, liars, deceivers, wolves in sheeps' clothing.
New Agers call us Black Adepti, Negative, Evil, Wicked, Materialistic.
Well, good for them.
Grand Lodge Masons call us "Irregular"…
The Establishment repeats the Christians. We are shifty. We are criminals. We are dirty no good crooks and bums. Well, lay it on with the trowel, bruddah!
McCarthy was certainly not the first of his sickly breed. The Psychological Warfare of the Cold War has been employed for centuries. We have been denounced by all camps for way too long. In order to demonstrate what we mean by this, we must, a) give a capsule definition of Psychological Warfare, especially in its Black or covert application; b) show as concisely as possible, the situation which took place in the first four centuries of the Common Era, and c) Show the situation as it is today, with respect to the "Masonic Peril," Thelemites, and other branches of the Gnosis which exist today on the one hand; and our detractors in the fundamentalist, Baptist, Catholic and reactionary political camps, especially the Far Right, on the other. This may also include offering an alternate definition of what constitutes the real Terrorism on this planet, and it really does predate Islam by at least four centuries.
Psychological Warfare involves any and all means by which a victory against an enemy can be obtained which conventional warfare alone could not achieve. Reinhard Gehlen, Knight of Malta, and spy master not only for the Nazis, but for the CIA and the BND, sums up Sun Tzu's philosophy brilliantly and concisely:
"There is no art higher than that of destroying the enemy's resistance without a fight on the battlefield. The direct tactic of war is necessary only on the battlefield, but only the direct tactic can lead to a real and lasting victory.
"Subvert anything of value in the enemy's country. Implicate the emissaries of the major powers in criminal undertakings; undermine their position and destroy their reputation in other ways as well, and expose them to the public ridicule of their fellow citizens.
"Do not shun the aid of even the lowest and most despicable people. Disrupt the work of their government with every means you can.
"Spread disunity and dispute among the citizens of the enemy's country. Turn the young against the old. Use every means to destroy their arms, their supplies, and the discipline of the enemy's forces. Debase OLD TRADITIONS AND ACCEPTED GODS. Be generous with promises and rewards to purchase intelligence and accomplices. Send out your secret agents in all directions. Do not skimp with money or with promises, for they yield a high return." - Gehlen, The Service, p. 331.
This all sounds like Clement of Alexandria's advice to Theodore in reference to the "despicable" Carpocratians and The Secret Gospel of Mark:
"[Speaking of the Carpocratians and other Heretics] 'Such men are to be opposed in all ways and altogether. For, even if they should say something true, one who loves the truth should not, even so, agree with them. For not all true [things] are the truth, nor should that truth which [merely] seems true according to human opinions be preferred to the true truth, that according to the faith.'
"…in effect Clement is saying nothing less than, 'If your opponent happens to tell the truth, you must deny it and lie in order to refute him.' …..
"Clement thus freely acknowledges that there is an authentic secret Gospel of Mark. He then instructs Theodore to deny it:
"'To them [the Carpocratians], therefore, as I said above, one must never give way, nor, when they put forward their falsifications, should one concede that the Secret Gospel is by Mark, but should even deny it on oath. For 'not all true [things] are to be said to all men …'" - HBHG, pp. 319-20.
This was in the last half of the Second century C.E. This is clear that the method(s) employed by the US Government in re the UFOs, the various Assassination coverups, and other falsehood mills had as an ancestor the method(s) employed by the early Orthodox Christian Church.
Even the Hermetica can be invoked here, since when the Asclepius III was written during the first two Christian Centuries, we get a prophecy which sounds a lot like the paraphrase of Sun Tzu, in some places:
""Art thou not aware, O Asclepios, that Egypt is
the image of heaven, or rather, that it is the projection below of the order
of things, above? If the truth must be told, this land is indeed the temple
of the world. Nevertheless -- since sages ought to foresee all things -- there
is one thing thou must know; a time will come when it will seem that the Egyptians
have adored the Gods so piously in vain, and that all their holy invocations
have been barren and unheeded. Divinity will quit the earth and return to heaven,
forsaking Egypt, its ancient abode, and leaving the land widowed of religion
and bereft of the presence of the Gods. Strangers will fill the earth, and not
only will sacred things be neglected, but -- more dreadful still -- religion,
piety, and the adoration of the Gods will be forbidden and punished by the laws.

forsaken of men and of Gods!

waves of blood, polluting thy divine waters, shall overflow thy banks; the number
of the dead shall surpass that of the living; and if, indeed, a few inhabitants
of the land remain, Egyptians by speech, they will in manners, be aliens! Thou
weepest, O Asclepios! But yet sadder things than these will come to pass. Egypt
will fall into apostacy, the worst of all evils. Egypt, once the holy land beloved
of the Gods and full of devotion for their worship, will become the instrument
of perversion, the school of impiety, the type of all violence. Then, filled
with disgust for everything, man will no longer feel either admiration or love
for the world. He will turn away from this beautiful work, the most perfect
alike in the present, the past, and the future. Nor will the languor and weariness
of souls permit anything to remain save disdain of the whole universe, this

of forms and images, wherein the will of the Lord, lavish of marvels, has united

be deemed better than life, nor will any man lift his eyes to heaven.
"In those days the religious man will be thought mad; the impious man will
be hailed as a sage; savage men will be deemed valiant; the edil-hearted will
be applauded as the best of men. The Soul, and all that belongs thereto -- whether
born mortal or able to attain eternal life -- all those things which I have
herein expounded to thee, will be but matters for ridicule, and will be esteemed
foolishness. There will even be peril of death, believe me, for those who remain
faithful to religion and intelligence. New rights will be instituted, new laws,
nor will there be left one holy word, sacred belief, religious and worthy of
heaven and of celestial things. O lamentable separation between the Gods and
men! Then there will remain only evil demons who will mingle themselves with
the miserable human race, their hand will be upon it impelling to all kinds
of wicked enterprise; to war, to rapine, to falsehood, to everything contrary
to the nature of the soul. The earth will no longer be in equilibrium, the sea
will no longer be navigable, in the heavens the regular course of the stars
will be troubled. Every holy voice will be condemned to silence; the fruits
of the earth will become corrupt, and she will be no more fertile; the very
air will sink into lugubrious torpor. Such will be the old age of the world;
irreligion and disorder, lawlessness, and the confusion of good men.
"When all these things shall be accomplished, O Asclepios, then the Lord
and Father, the sovereign God who rules the wide world, beholding the evil ways
and actions of men, will arrest these misfortunes by the exercise of His divine
will and goodness. And, in order to put an end to error and to the general corruption,
He will drown the world with a deluge or consume it by fire, or destroy it by
wars and epidemics, and thereafter He will restore it to its primitive beauty;
so that once more it shall appear worthy of admiration and worship, and again
a chorus of praise and of blessing shall celebrate Him Who has created and redeemed
so beautiful a work. This re-birth of the world, this restoration of all good
things, this holy and sacred re-habilitation of Nature will take place when
the time shall come which is appointed by the divine and ever-eternal will of
God, without beginning and always the same."
This is exactly what happened in the Fourth Century of the Common Era, and it is happening today. It happened circa 525 BCE, when the last truly Egyptian ruler ruled.
The reversal of values, turning that which is false, evil, ugly, miserable, and truly bad and worthy of the exterminator's spray can, into that which is the Only Truth, the Only Good, the Only Beauty, the Only Pleasure, and falsely "good" - destroyed institutions which were designed to last forever. As to Psychological Warfare, the classical definition is as follows:
"…psychological warfare, may be defined as the PLANNED use of PROPAGANDA and OTHER ACTIONS designed to influence the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behavior of enemy, neutral, and friendly foreign groups in such a way as to support the accomplishment of national aims and objectives." (Daugherty and Janowitz.)
As to Propaganda:
"IT (propaganda) may be defined as the planned dissemination of news, information, special arguments, and appeals designed to influence the beliefs, thoughts, and actions of a specific group. Propaganda is often classified in accordance with what appears to be its source as either overt (white) or covert (black).
"Overt propaganda is that whose true source is clearly acknowledged. Covert propaganda is that which appears to originate from a source other than the true one. Some writers describe still a third class of propaganda - gray, or that which avoids identification either as of friendly or of enemy origin. Still others maintain that gray propaganda is nothing more than poorly disguised covert, or black, propaganda." - ibid.
As to the importance of propaganda, black, grey, or white, and psychological warfare, we need only recall to mind the events of the past fifty years. (As we originally wrote this, we did so, making a note that on the date we wrote this was the fiftieth anniversary of Aleister Crowley taking the Greater Feast, or High Kick-off! - 01 December 1997 c.e.)
The Cold War was Psychological Warfare. In earlier times, the Gnosis was warred against by the same ones who prosecuted and barbecued the Templars, Witches, Freemasons, Freethinkers of all types, and in our recent past, Screenwriters, Musicians, Writers, Philosophers and Scientist. Nowadays we can include anybody who is critical of the Republican Party or who likes France or the French. Moral of the story? Vote for France for President of the United States in the 2004 election!!!!!!!! If we have to be force fed another goddamned awful TV Dinner selection, then give us French Cuisine!
One hundred years ago, even fifty years ago, it was still possible to control a good size of the population with religion. Today, our message may fall on deaf ears, because the social control of religion has been replaced by the the Hi-Tech secular police state. (When this was written that is. Now with Rove and company and the bogus Christian Taliban Mulla, things are back in business as usual.) Instead of having to fear Popes and Puritans, today we have to heed the dictates of the fascist Police State .(that still holds true, unfortunately.)
Instead of eternal damnation, it is cops, prison terms, and taxes. Instead of Paradise on earth, it is the Brave New World of the New World Order.
1933 is a low-budget dress rehearsal of an elementary school play, by comparison.
But….. the message is the same - Whether we speak in language that compares with the Gnostic Scriptures our Spiritual forebears penned, or in the language of more recent times.
In fact, in a Living Tradition, the language and teaching changes with time. What was acceptable by our ancestors is gibberish to us today. That is called growth, evolution et cetera.
True religion is not religious. Worship, for the most part, is needless self-effacement and slavery. Because it is coerced from the worshipper by the authorities,under threats of eternal damnation, excommunication, social ostracism, blacklisting.
Sincere belief, sincere faith, devotion, charity, practice of religion is fine, for those who are so inclined, and it should always remain as such, and be encouraged in the masses of the population.
However, the end-goal of all religious belief is not worship. It is Self-Realization, Gnosis, Knowledge of Deity. Things which are kept under lock and key by the Popes, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Ministers, Shepherds.
The highest teachings of Lamaism were proscribed by the dominant religio-political hierarchy in Tibet. This would be the Gelugspa Order, the head of which is HH The Dalai Lama. But the Nyingmapa Order, the Old Unreformed School whose Great Perfection Doctrine formed the centrepiece of the cultus, has not gone away, even under the threat of extinction.
To attain the realization that is the object of these teachings, is truly analogous to the Westerner seeking the Holy Grail (at least in the Mystical Aspect of the Grail Quest). It is the discovery of the Philosopher's Stone, the pronunciation of the Ineffable Name, even though in the end the only name one can honestly pronounce is one's own name!
Liberation from the round of rebirth? Why not? In several lifetimes? Several years? How about instantaneously by virtue of the modification of POINT OF VIEW (POV) that causes everything to make sense? While we're at it, why not the elimination of the need for a future life after THE PRESENT ONE, in which one gains "Heaven"? Because even with all the suffering in the world and all the apparent evils and misdeeds, this is the best anything will ever be. It could be better (i.e., by 1997 terms, in 2004 terms: it could be A HELLUVA LOT better, thank Bush and Enron), perhaps. It could also be a lot worse. Yes it could. WISE UP! Paradise has always been within immediate reach of everybody, but people are still asleep in the trance of waking ignorance.
But….. as to the Political Implications of Religion, we turn to the writings of the ever-wise and most astute of Political Scientists of the Renaissance, Niccolo Macchiavelli, in The Discourses, Book I, Chapter 11:
"And whoever reads Roman History attentively will see
in how great a degree religion served in the command of the armies, in uniting
the people and keeping them well-conducted, and in covering the wicked with
shame. So that if the question were discussed whether Rome was more indebted
to Romulus or to Numa, I believe that the highest merit would be conceded to
Numa; for where religion exists it is easy to introduce armies and discipline,
but where there are armies and no religion it is difficult to introduce the
latter. And although we have seen that Romulus could organize the Senate and
establish other civil and military institutions without the aid of divine authority,
yet it was very necessary for Numa, who feigned that he held converse with a
nymph, who dictated to him all that he wished to persuade the people to; and
the reason for all this was that Numa mistrusted his own authority, lest it
should prove insufficient to enable him to introduce new and unaccustomed ordinances
in Rome. In truth, there never was any remarkable lawgiver amongst any people
who did not resort to divine authority, as otherwise his laws would not have
been accepted by the people; for there are many good laws, the reason of which
is known to the sagacious lawgiver, but the reasons for which are not sufficiently
evident to enable him to persuade others to submit to them; and therefore do
wise men, for the purpose of removing this difficulty, resort to divine authority."

"And as the observance of divine institutions is the cause of the greatness
of republics, so the disregard of them produces their ruin; for where the fear
of God is wanting, there the country will come to ruin, unless it be sustained
by the fear of the prince, which may temporarily supply the want of religion."
We have remarked elsewhere that it was necessary for the Roman Catholic Church to introduce and enforce the dogma of Original Sin in order to claim Power over all secular institutions. By sanctifying secular rulers (investiture), the Church legitimized the secular states. In return for this bestowal of authority the ruler became subject to the dictates of the Pope. If the ruler disobeyed, or failed to pay enough taxes, or cede a piece of real estate suitable for a vacation hideaway, the Church agitated the mobs against the disobedient whelp.
Power in itself is not legitimate, the Vatican theorists say, because it is brought about as a result of Original Sin. Therefore, pay the Papa and we'll turn a blind eye… In other words, a protection racket on a grand scale.
Why do we need it? Outside of controlling the mobs, we don't. Those of us who do not need it may actually constitute a relatively small number of the population.
It is true that Christianity, as it was originally developed, before the Skid Row winos moved in and turned it into a complete blasphemy, was much farther to the left of centre than the right wing ideologues would like to believe. The Essenes have been considered by some to be moderate-Left, though others more recently make them out to be like the right wing militia types. The Gnostics for the most part were like the Green Libertarians. The skid row Christians were like the militia-oriented far right reactionary groups and other living sludge piles.
We don't find this kind of description in the safe historians or the safe "esoteric" writers like Clare-Prophet or Van Buren, though the latter provides some good reproductions of various paintings in her works. The texts that these people put out are really for the gullible. They would like to present the Gnostics as sanctimonious goody-goodies, probably something like liberal-minded conservatives who still vote a straight Republican ticket come hell or high water. Can't be a Libertarian if one's a Republican at heart. And the Republican Party was founded as a result of the fanaticism stirred up during the Morgan affair. From the Anti-Masonic Party to the Know-Nothing Party to the Republican Party. Perhaps these days the name should be changed back to the Know Nothing Party, since that is what we see every day.
So, everything in the end of the "Classical" period was turned inside out. This is the Reversal of Values. Humans became mere slaves and subjects of a priesthood of the "one true church". No longer did people have control of their own destiny. Perhaps it can be questioned whether they did to begin with, but it is certain that after the Church took over, they didn't. From this point on, people needed someone else to do it for them.
This is rather like a diabetic who needs insulin in order to convert the nutrients in the food into nutrients that can be absorbed by the blood. Particularly sugars. This is like the junky who needs junk in order to get by. So the superstitious person, blind follower of the slave god, is forced to believe that he needs Big Daddy to kick him in the ass once in the while.
The Gods and Goddesses of the past, Genii and Ancestral Spirits, all benevolent, were turned into malevolent demons and devils, and the most popular gods became the Devil. That is, the ones they couldn't co-opt for their own use.
There are those who will ask, "So? What's the Big Deal?" The Big Deal is that a big deal was struck which gave the Christian Orthodoxy hegemony, Supreme Rule in all affairs, Spiritual and Temporal, over the minds, bodies, souls and psyches of every man, woman, and child on Planet Earth: Past, Present and Future.
It created, in short, a tremendous protection racket.
Martin Luther criticized this abuse of power, and secured some reforms, but, the more reactionary among the protestants ruined the affair by getting rid of the co-opted deities and practices altogether, worshipping the disfigured version of the Jewish God all the while condemning to Hell and other far reaching places all the Jews they could, because they killed Jesus, or so they were told.
The Rosicrucians sought to overturn this by bringing the Hermetica into society. What did this get us? The Enlightenment, the Age of Revolution, but also a more dogmatic system in the form of Scientific Materialism and Soviet Style Communism.
The last real revelation came with Crowley when he received and gave the Law of Thelema. All movements for the most part, since then, like the Beat Generation, the Consciousness movement, "The Hippies", even, Industrial Culture, the subcultures that brought us the Internet, can name Unkie Al as an ancestor supremo. All of this was directly connected to Thelema at the highest levels of policy planning, although for far different reasons than TO MEGA THERION intended.
There might be a word or two to be said about the use of Thelema as a means of serving the political warfare agenda of the Ideological Right. Motta referred to it in his writings. Of course people will say that Motta was Crazy. Motta was insane. Motta had a tiny wee wee. Who cares?
If what he stated was correct, it makes perfect sense. When we analyze what has become of Thelema, thanks to all the dissensions, the schisms, the splinterings, the various camps of people who cannot reconcile their differences,and the various bodies that supposedly exist, though probably not in action, to alleviate this by allegedly bringing people of all Thelemic variations together, just says to me that such groups exist only to further the dissolution, and maintain such a deep wedge between everyone that any reasonable cohesion is impossible to attain. For that reason we do not recognize these groups, nor do we recognize their spokespeople. Spokes are for bicycles and we prefer Campagnolo wheels anyway.
Basically, then, Psychological Warfare seeks to overturn an enemy using tactics which apply to the psyches of the target population. This does not always include enemy populations. Witness WACO Texas. Any group which is seen as being hostile to the pre-planned agenda of the state, whether they actually are or not is another question, can be brought to its knees with the use of psychological warfare.
Such a tactic was used during the Albigensian Crusade. The Albigenses (and other Cathari) were all obliged to sew yellow crosses on their garments, a practice copied in the 20th Century by the Nazis.
In the political arena, during the Cold War, the Use of Psychological Warfare outdid the Nazis'crimes against humankind. Be that as it may, the statistics on persecutions in the name of religion outdo even the Nazis and the Soviets.
This can be attested to more in the right wing side of things. For example, DeGaulle was regarded by the far right as a "pinko". Anyone who was anti-Vichy during WW2 was a "pinko". Anyone who was anti-Franco during the Spanish Civil War and later was a "pinko". Dali supported Franco, and was a good chappy, and got work via his wife Gala, at the New York Museum of Modern Art, while Luis Buñuel, who opposed Franco, was regarded as a "pinko" and lost his MOMA commission when Dali and Wifey showed up.
Anything just a fraction of a millimeter to the left of far right was regarded as Commie, and therefore was fair game for attack.
Anything that encouraged free thinking, humanitarian ideals, art, culture, philosophy, science, enlightenment, wisdom, was and still is regarded with extreme suspicion by these Bible waving fanatics.
On the other extreme, anything that approximated the ideal of reason, harmony, beauty, wisdom, strength, progress, was regarded with suspicion by the extreme left. The extreme left, funded by the extreme right. Anything that has a profit motive is considered evil capitalism even to this day. Any authority save for the committee, or matriarchal rule (preferably with a wall of PhD's)… is considered fascistic.
This is such a regrettable shame. How can we be blamed if we choose not to be so labelled? Can anyone blame us for seeing these people as little more than dupes who are fair game for crass exploitation? After all, they are the "slaves of Because". If they choose to be controlled by the game, and when we hold some important game pieces, not to mention the rule book as well, then "the slaves shall serve" us even if they happen to occupy the Duma, the Knesset, the oval office, the Secretariat General of the United Nations.
Instead of robbing Peter to pay Paul, we pick both pockets and give them both a swift kick with our muddy boot!
There will never be any such thing as equality, because it is a complete impossibility, unless we all want to kill each other, and take the planet with us.
Equilibrium can exist only on a person to person level. One person at a time. But there will always be "the other", the "outside", "them", to look down upon, and be glad that "they" are not "us".
Because there is absolutely no legitimacy behind the rulers of the world and authority vested in the manufacturers of consent, they literally get away with murder. Sure, there are laws to follow. Sure. Sure. Sure… But to invoke supposed divinity, divine principles, and divine retribution as a threat against members of society considered to be abominations to these people who claim that they are set free from the old law by the new law, yet it's okay to pick and choose which parts of the old law they care to keep…. is completely unwarranted.
Who are the Fundamentalists, anyway? What gives them the right to assert that they and they alone have a true religion, and that this true religion of theirs gives them any authority and license to invoke condemnations and strictures upon everybody else? What gives these inbred human livestock mutations of the religious right the right to condemn the Freemasons, Occultists, "leftists", and people with sexual lifestyles that they condemn, undoubtedly because there are plenty of us who do not feel ashamed that we like making love to our reflection in the mirror!?
Which of these will achieve immortality by virtue of their works? Amongst those of the Fundamentalist strain of the human cancer, it can only be the most brutal and wicked. Otherwise, the Fundamentalists will leave nothing behind but the pack of lies that the cards their house is made of were originally packaged in.
And Psychological Warfare is their weapon, always has been. One cannot get into an argument with a Fundie sumbitch without losing, because they ARE and MUST ALWAYS BE - R - I - G - H - T!
They invert half-truths and half-baked excuses into a completely false version of the truth and call it TRUE. In order to win the battle, conversationally, one must be trained in the art of war, in the usage of various techniques that one can pick up all over the internet. And if they have guns, one can hope that they have a deep inborn desire to commit suicide.
When they point to the book of Leviticus and say God said this, or God condemns that…. Point to the Pauline letters and say: this is the New Law, Motherfucker! Beter yet, point to Deuteronomy 4:19-20:

Now, unless I just fell off the turnip truck, the pronoun "YOU" refers not to Christians, or Anglo Saxons, or Americans of whatever hyphenation, political and/or sexual orientation, no. It refers specifically and exclusively to the JEWS. The JEWS of the JEWISH race and religion. Not the Christians who have been conned by their lying shepherds to be regarded as substitute JEWS.
