Historical Legends of the AASR

The present volume is not "per se" one of the regular volumes in the series, "The Brethren of the GIFT." However, it is of interest to students of the author‘s works, because he refers in several places to the degrees of the system of Freemasonry that has come down to us as "THE RITE OF PERFECTION," the "ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE," and High Grade Freemasonry in general.

PLEASE LET IT BE NOTICED HERE: THIS WORK IS NOT PUBLISHED AS AN "EXPOSURE". IT IS PUBLISHED STRICTLY AS EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL. We have made every attempt to compile this book from actual degree legends, and those from the best examples, i.e., the Francken version, the early Scottish Rite version, the Pike version, etc. Sometimes we have had to 'slum it' a bit, and pull material from Blanchard‘s exposure of Cerneau rituals, or use Waite‘s Encyclopaedia descriptions of the Degree legends, in some cases. We are convinced that the present compilation should prove invaluable to students not only of Mr. Sellers‘ works, but to students of Freemasonry, who want the degree legends in one place, alongside some of the more important works on the High Degrees, like Morals and Dogma.
